ASL Club *MUST RSVP for date party!!

**YOU MUST RSVP BY TONIGHT if you are going to our "Revenge of the Nerds" Date Party !!


Agenda:
-1st 10 mins: socialize (NO VOICE)
-Oreo gives a presentation
-Practice song
-Business: -pass out copies of directory
-Discuss Date Party
-Discuss signing in quad; booth reservations
-Discuss officer nominations/elections
-Work on designing/painting a piece of butcher paper to use as a sign in the quad
-Practice song




*Below are the meeting minutes, as well as the start of the song we are signing- but it is broken down into '8-counts' so that everyone can practice signing it to the correct beats on their own.

Meeting Minutes
Monday November 8th, 2010


Signing amongst each other for first 20 minutes of the meeting.

Suzy starts meeting discussion: sign in!

Go over sign song chorus: “Waiting on the world to change.” (more practice later)

Business:

Date Party: Nov. 20th. Oreo made FB invite! RSVP deadline next Monday Nov. 15th at Bobcat Village Apts. 6-10pm.
Theme: Revenge of the nerds!!!
$5 per person and/or bring a dish! (Sign up for dish/ drinks)
Donations welcome!
Decorations: Decorate butcher paper sign next meeting with “ASL CLUB REVENGE OF THE NERDS!”

Quad Performance:

KTSW offered to let us “co-exist” for their next event and have a booth next to it & sell t-shirts and cookies. Etc.
Dec. 2nd (1st thurs in Dec.) 11-1pm
We can perform approximately three times (@11, 12, & 1)
Need people to sign up to help work the booth.

Suzy has emailed out the directory to everyone. Please email Suzy if info is incorrect or needs to be changed. Also, if you don’t have a picture in there, please send to Suzy… OR YOU WILL BE PICTURLESS!!!

OREO: Announcement about Deaf Camp.
Requirements: Must know ABC’S and basic signs.
Advisor will come to interview those who are interested.
ASL Club members have 1st priority to volunteer for Deaf Camp.
Great opportunity to learn in Deaf environment!
Need a Background check $25.
Starts in the summer!
Applications must be turned in to Oreo by end of this month WITH police report!

More song practice: The new revised version of the lyrics has been emailed out to everyone. Please practice with video on youtube, the link is at the bottom of the revised lyrics email from Suzy.
We went over (introduced) first 5 stanza’s.
Please practice first 2 stanza’s for next week!!!

Next week: Oreo will tell us about his life!
